Medical

Medical services are offered at:

  • Northern Menominee Health Center, Spalding, MI
  • Northern Menominee Health Center South, Menominee, MI
  • Ewen Medical-Dental Center, Ewen, MI

Medical Services Include:

Primary Medical Care – General assessment, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness by our doctors, physician assistants and nurse practitioners.

Urgent Medical Care – Assessment and treatment of minor injuries or stabilization and referral as appropriate to the nearest Emergency Department or specialist.

Preventative Screenings – Including cholesterol, blood lead testing, cancer, pediatric vision, hearing and dental.

Immunizations – Adult and pediatric immunizations including recommended childhood vaccinations, flu shots, pneumonia, Varicella, and others.

Well child examinations – Well child checks according to recommended guidelines for each age level to include hearing, vision, immunizations, growth and developmental milestones.

Obstetric/Gynecological services – Pregnancy tests, prenatal care, referral to delivering obstetricians, family planning, routine gynecological services, colposcopy.

Diagnostic Laboratory – Routine tests such as strep tests, pregnancy tests, blood lead levels, blood glucose levels are done on site. Blood is drawn for more extensive testing and sent to local referral laboratories. Laboratory work is done for established patients only.

Diagnostic X-ray – Chest, arm, leg x-rays are done at the Ewen site only. Other internal x-rays at Ewen and all patients at other sites are referred to nearby hospitals.

Nutrition – Individual assessment, nutrition education and planning are available, along with programs such as Overeaters Anonymous.

Behavioral Health – Referrals are made to local mental health and substance abuse programs.

Specialty Services – Referrals are made to specialist physicians and programs of the patient's choice or insurance.

Health Education – Services are available on illnesses, self-management of chronic diseases for individuals and families, along with school education sessions, other public lectures, news articles and informational items.

Pharmacy – General pharmacy services are available on site through an independent pharmacist or by mail order for established clinic patients only. We participate in Pharmacy Assistance programs with drug manufacturers for patients who qualify.

Translation – Interpretation services are available for non-English speaking patients.
